HATE SPEACH - 2019

This report reflects the results of media monitoring conducted in a period between 1 January and 31 December 2019. The objective of the study was to identify various forms and sources of hate speech in media and public discourse as well as to analyze main trends.

Apart from media outlets, the monitoring also focused on other sources – politicians, clergy, civil society organizations and individual members of society.

The introductory part of the report presents the key findings and the methodology of the study; the first part provides unified quantitative data; the second part discusses various sources of hate speech by typology.

The report was prepared within the USAID-funded Promoting Integration, Tolerance and Awareness in Georgia (PITA) program that is implemented by the UN Association of Georgia (UNAG).
